LSLGoodNeighborPackage
De HelpKit de Eva
If you plan on making anything go bump, move, fall, get pushed, ram, or otherwise make noise and collide with stuff, this package is a must.
This set of scripts will help keep you from causing unintentional grief with your neighbors.
It also allows you to make wild builds that move, hit or do whatever moving stuff does, without the worry of making too much noise.
Some possible uses are for elevators, bullets, cars, planes, or just anything that moves.
This contains the following scripts and detailed useage:
This is to delete objects by chat. Place this script in an object you wish to have self delete. Say or Shout (hold ctrl while hitting enter) the word delete, and your object will self delete.
This script keeps objects that get away from you from going into your lost and found when they leave the world due to getting away. The objects delete at the edge of the world, but doesn't go into your trash. So be carefull with this, make sure you have a copy of your object before letting an object go that has this.
This is a biggy. Your nieghbors will not know what you are doing, but they won't even know that they will love ya for useing this script. If you play with anything that goes bump, moves, etc this script needs to be in it. It allows for peace among other users. The function of this, is that when an object with this script hits something, there isn't any collision noise, or if so it's very little.
This script makes sure that your objects stay in the sim that they are created. You can't save an object to inventory and rez in in another sim while this script is active. Just like the "No Lost and Found" objects don't go into your trash. So be carefull with this, make sure you have a copy of your object before letting an object go that has this.
This is to delete objects by touch. Place this script in an object you wish to have self delete. This will self delete when anyone touches it.
This is nice for experiments that go a bit wild and get in people's way, that way they can delete the object. Also if you lose an object that has this you likely don't have to worry too much about tracking it down. But still if you lose an object, aside from and along with this script. you should make every effort to find it so it's not in someone's way.
This isn't a needed thing for most people, but it is handy for those touch scripts that you don't want just anyone stopping by and messing with. Only you can activate the touch event with this. Very handy for touch initiated experiments that you don't want anyone messing up.
Now there is a thing you need to know about a few of these scripts.
These scripts listed here:
Chat Die Stay in sim! Touch Die
All have a error in them intentionally. You have to remove the error in order to use them.
This is the error:
123//remove the 123 to be able to use this script. Just delete the numbers and make sure running in the lower left is checked and hit save.
//Make sure you save a copy of this script and all others in this package before removing the 123.
Just do as this says and you will be off and running.
Now if you don't know how to put scripts into objects or remove scripts from objects, this section is for you.
Hit ctrl 3
Hit the more button at the lower right of the window that comes up.
Then click the contents tab.
Left click the object you want to use to open the scripts or put in scripts.
If you are looking at this kit then you also want to open your inventory, which is at the lower right of your screen. Click the inventory button and find a folder called scripts.
Now with the inventory open to the scripts folder and the object open to its contents drag each script from the object to your scripts folder in your inventory.
If you want to take the scripts from your inventory and place them into an object drag the scripts from your scripts inventory folder onto the folder in the contents window of your object named contents.
If the script doesn't show up in the contents window either one of 2 things happened.
1. your object isn't selected. 2. you need to drag it directly onto the folder looking icon in the contents tab.
If you need any further assisstance, I'm sure most people will help you out. If need be look for someone in the Mentor or Instructor groups. Then look for a Linden if no one else is available. But please ask a Linden as a last resort if you can help it. Because there are many helpfull users here that will help out.
